If you are looking for a Technical Photography Course this workshop is not for you. If you are interested in learning to use your Camera to expand your relationship with Nature, be inspired, and help you to cultivate Inner Peace, please read on.
Have you ever looked at the veins in the petal of a flower? Gazed upon the reflections of Trees and their leaves on water? Noticed the beauty of the dance of Light upon snowmelt as it flows down a street? How many colors can you name that you’ve seen glistening on snow? When we slow down and look, really Look, we are gifted with “New Eyes” with which to experience the Beauty of Nature at a level that most people never take the time to notice. Using the Camera as a Meditative tool we expand our Connection to the Natural world and hence, the Divine. The process itself is largely the Purpose. The images you create become an added bonus and an inspirational reminder of the value of slowing down to See.
After discussing this basic framework we will view a body of Images chosen to inspire you. We move on to cover some basic ways you can better utilize your camera to reflect your Vision. Following a guided meditation designed to expand our sensory awareness we will venture out into the “Field” and shoot for the rest of the Session.
This Course is suitable for all levels of Photography experience. Young Adults over 16 with a serious interest in Photography are welcome with parental permission. All Students must bring their own Camera. (Digital SLR Camera with programmable settings preferred but not required.) Participants must also have their own transportation. Carpooling to the shooting site may also be possible. More details provided upon registration.
