from the Press Release:

“Mahalo Hawaii” : A Photography Exhibition by Elisabeth J. Levy

Danbury Public Library June 15-August 13, 2015

Sponsored by the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut

If you’ve missed “Mahalo Hawaii” during previous showings or just desire another chance to take a visual journey to the Big Island without the hassle and expense of a 12-hour flight here is your opportunity! This stunning exhibition is coming back to Hat City for 8 weeks beginning June 15.

“Mahalo” (Thank you in Native Hawaiian) was chosen as the title of this body of work because of the gratitude the Artist says she feels towards this extraordinary place.

“Hawaii’s magical land, it’s blue, white, and lavender dancing waves, its glittering multicolored stones, active volcanoes, and aged hardened planes of lava, as well as its glorious flowers, fish, and other sea life — brought me great joy and healing during a difficult time in my life.”

It is Levy’s great hope that the Images of Mahalo will not only inspire people to visit the beautiful island of Hawaii but also to move them to want to protect it. She believes that the best way to preserve a place is to empower its native people. “Mahalo and ‘Oli’oli (Enjoy!)”

This Exhibition is part of the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut’s “Accessible Art Series” and a portion of all sales from the show will benefit the Cultural Alliance. For more information or to inquire about purchasing artwork from the show please contact Elisabeth at elisabeth@ejLphoto.com or (914) 261-3509.
